Seaweed Stops Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria

Weeding Out Bacteria

By Kristen Philipkoski, MIT Technology Review, December 21, 2004

Slimy plant life floating around the ocean may hold the key to slowing down the spread of certain infections, and could lead to a new strain of drugs that won’t be susceptible to antibiotic resistance, a problem the Centers for Disease Control calls one of its top concerns.

University of New South Wales researchers found that seaweed compounds, called furanones, can stop the bacteria that cause cholera by cutting off the communication systems enabling the disease to spread. The breakthrough has researchers speculating that furanones will likely also work against other bacteria, including those that cause staph infection, food poisoning and tuberculosis — which are increasingly becoming resistant to some antibiotics.

According to the CDC, every year nearly two million people in the United States get infections in the hospital, and 90,000 die. And 70 percent of the bacteria that cause these infections are resistant to at least one antibiotic.

But researchers say bacteria won’t have an incentive to develop mutations that will foil furanones because they don’t actually kill bacteria, only block their communication with each other, which prevents them from growing strong enough to cause problems.

Case Analysis: Health Hazards of Plutonium Release

During the time I was Asst. Professor of Radiology, Biometrics, and Preventive Medicine at the University of Colorado, I was appointed by Governor Lamm and Congressman (later Senator) Tim Wirth to serve for many years as Chair of the Subcommittee on Health Effects of the Rocky Flats Monitoring Committee.

The Rocky Flats Plant in the Denver area made virtually all of the plutonium triggers for nuclear weapons during the cold war. Fires in the plant on multiple occasions had dispersed plutonium into the suburban surroundings. Since I was funded by the National Cancer Institute to work with leading carcinogenesis researchers in the world to identify causes and cures for cancer, I applied my mathematical models of tumor formation to the Rocky Flats case.

This research is highly relevant to research on use of electromagnetic frequencies to kill cancer cells. Since many people have asked for specifics in my research background, I recently posted an overview paper:

Sutherland JV (1984) Estimates of cancer risk associated with radiation exposure. In Health Effects of Low Level Radiation. Hendee WR (Ed) Norwalk: Appleton-Century-Crofts, pp 93-117.

Scientific papers published before the era of online journals are difficult to access so I am posting as I have time to scan them. Here is the paper on Rocky Flats. It shows that, while plutonium exposure undoubtedly increased the risk of cancer in the suburban population around the plant, the risk increase was small compared to cancer risk induced by smoking.

Parasites: Using Electromagnetic Devices to Kill Them

Over the past decade, I’ve eliminated thousands of parasite infections. Everyone has at least several of them. Most go unnoticed.

This week I’ve provided frequencies for some very interesting parasite infections caused by herbal protocols that cleared them out of the intestinal tract, only to have them migrate to another part of the body.

To eliminate parasites requires the precise frequency for each stage of the parasite life cycle (at least four, often seven or more). This requires careful testing of the person along with the specific parasite strain, which can be done remotely with a high resolution digital photo.

General frequencies and zappers usually annoy parasites rather than kill them, often stimulating them to move around and proliferate. Also, killing one parasite, or one strain of a parasite allows other strains to proliferate. And killing a parasite infected with another parasite, virus, bacteria, etc., releases those pathogens into your system. Taking the random frequency or shotgun approach to parasites can generate a major Herxheimer reaction.

So usually, I figure out what the parasite are infected with and kill that first. Then shoot the parasite in all its stages. Then watch for what starts to proliferate and kill that. While herbal protocols will usually clean out your digestive tract, the parasites will often move to other parts of your body, particularly the brain and sometimes veins which can cause blood pressure and high pulse. Athlete’s foot parasites seem to have a particular affinity for the brain, maybe one of the factors in the “jock” personal type. So you really want to use frequency devices that provide a whole body effect. The right herbs are a good adjuvant therapy to keep the body loading down while you eliminate the stragglers with frequency devices.

Finally, a parasite may hole up in a very specific organ or portion of an organ system and nothing will eliminate it without plate zapping. So you need to have a means of detecting where in the body a specific parasite is hiding, figuring out what it is infected with, determining the stages of its life cycle and the specific frequencies for those stages, along with slightly different frequencies for different strains of the same parasite.

It’s a daunting task. As a result, most people do not get consistent results with Rife frequencies for parasites without some expert assistance.

Health Care Technology Is a Promise Unfinanced

December 3, 2004

By STEVE LOHR

From the president on down, the Bush administration has been a proponent of modernizing the nation’s creaky healthcare system with information technology. But while the administration’s words of support for ahigh-technology future for health care have been plentiful, the dollars, it seems, are scarce. The huge federal spending bill recently approved by Congress eliminated a seemingly modest $50 million request for the office of Dr. David J. Brailer, who was appointed the national health information technology coordinator in May.

Dr. Brailer acknowledged his disappointment in an interview yesterday. “The money is important,” he said. “This was a bad bounce, and it shows how big our education challenge is.” One critic of the action was less guarded in his comments. “Congress, in its infinite wisdom, zeroed-out DavidBrailer’s office,” said Newt Gingrich, the Republican Health Transformation, a health policy group. “They couldn’t find $50 million to signal that David Brailer has a real job and what he’s doing is important. Frankly, I think it ‘s a disgrace.”

The Bush administration, Mr. Gingrich said, bore most of the responsibility. “No one in the White House or in the senior staff of the Department of Health and Human Services fought for this,” he said.

…The $50 million requested for Dr. Brailer’s office was to have been used to provide seed money for health information demonstration projects that would encourage the industry to agree on technology standards, hasten investment by private companies and accelerate the adoption of modern information technology by doctors and hospitals.

Bringing patient records and prescriptions out of an era of ink and paper into the computer age, health experts agree, would make health care more efficient and reduce medical errors, saving lives and dollars. President Bush repeatedly sounded that theme this year, starting with his State of the Union address. “By computerizing health records,” he said, “we can avoid dangerous medical mistakes, reduce costs and improve care.”

In a debate with Senator John Kerry in October, Mr. Bush said that much of the high and rising cost of health care resulted from hospitals, clinics and doctors’ not using “any information technology.” Health care, he asserted, was trapped in the past, the “equivalent of buggy-and-horse days, compared with other industries here in America.”

“We’ve got to introduce high technology into health care,” the president added. “We’re beginning to do it.”

Fish Oil: Why Doing Your Own Research is the Best Prescription

Recently the FDA authorized the following claim to appear on the labels of fish oil supplements:

Supportive but not conclusive evidence shows that the consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

This occurred only because the FDA was repeatedly sued for violating the First Amendment. The court repeatedly found the FDA guilty and ordered them to allow evidence based medicine results to be mentioned on labels of dietary supplements, at least in the case of fish oil.

Even more dangerous than FDA suppression of medical evidence is your physician’s ignorance of the medical literature. For example, in 1994, the Lancet published the Lyon Diet Heart Study which showed that a mediterranean diet reduced mortality by 70%. In 1999, one of the leading cardiologists at Massachusetts General Hospital reported in an editorial in Circulation that almost no cardiologists were familiar with the Lyon Heart Study. Circulation. 1999;99:733-735

Recently, a physician with many decades of experience in medicine commented to me that he hated to send his family members to be treated by other physicians. I asked him why, thinking he probably disagreed with treatment modalities. He surprised me when he said, “They are so ignorant!”

Once again, this demonstrates that you cannot expect the FDA or your physician to always act in your best interest. They may be ignorant, too busy, or in the worst case, actively suppressing information that only a federal court could force them to release. Each individual must take active responsibility for their own health and well being and do their own research. Failure to do this will increase your risk of morbidity and mortality, sometimes by more than an order of magnitude.

ElectroMed 2005 Symposium

ElectroMed 2005 Symposium

May 15-18, 2005

Portland, OR

Background:

Recent advances in the generation of ultrashort pulses of electrical power have opened new venues in the field of bioelectrics, bioelectrochemistry, and electrophysiology. Electrical pulses with duration down to less than one billionth of a second allow us to explore and utilize electrical interactions with biological cells and tissue. The high frequency components in the ultrashort pulses have been shown to provide a pathway to the interior of cells. Fundamental studies of high voltage field interaction with the interior of cells. Fundamental studies of high voltage field interaction with the biological cells and the corresponding cellular response to these electrical stimuli have prompted broad interests from engineers and scientists for both sensing and detection as well as manipulation and control of the biological systems for modification of cell structures and destruction of biological cells for sterilization and decontamination purposes.

As an example, non-equilibrium atmospheric pressure plasmas have recently been playing the role of an enabling technology in several industries. Amongst the novel applications, the use of atmospheric pressure “cold” plasmas in the biomedical field is experiencing a heightened interest from both the plasma science research community and the biomedical research community. This is due to the relatively recent application of these plasmas in promising medical applications such as wound healing, tissue engineering, surface modification of bio-compatible materials, and the sterilization of reusable heat-sensitive medical instruments. As more knowledge is gained on the interaction of plasmas with biological matter, plasma-based techniques will potentially become well established and the use of plasma in medical procedures will become universally accepted.

The recent findings and technological advances in this area have previously been communicated every two years in ElectroMed ’99, ElectroMed 2001, and ElectroMed 2003. A fourth international symposium on the “Non-thermal Medical and Biological Treatments using Electromagnetics Fields and Ionized Gases,” ElectroMed 2005, is scheduled to take place on May 15-18, 2005 in Portland, Oregon. Abstracts and presentations are currently solicited in, but not restricted to, the following areas:

Ø Application of electric fields for medical diagnostics and devices

Ø Bioeffects of pulsed microwaves, millimeter waves, and nonthermal plasmas

Ø Biological decontamination by pulsed electric fields

Ø Plasma-based sterilization

Ø Biomedical application of plasmas

Ø Biophysical modeling and simulations

Ø Electrobiochemcial and electrobiochemiluminescent sensing

Ø Electrobiomemetics

Ø Diagnostics and imaging techniques

Ø Effects of gene and protein extraction and expression

Ø Electroporation of cells and tissues and their application

Vitamin E Controversy

Renowned Researchers, Doctors Challenge Recent Study and Say ‘Keep Taking Vitamin E’-New Web Site Provides Clarity for Consumers on Vitamin E’s Proven Health Benefits

WASHINGTON, Nov 18, 2004 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — “To E or not to E,” a question prompted by a controversial analysis released last week, is addressed by leading researchers and physicians who recommend that Americans keep taking vitamin E supplements in recommended amounts for overall health benefits. These researchers, physicians and health officials have voiced concern and even outrage regarding a “meta-analysis” suggesting that high-dose vitamin E supplements “may increase risk of dying” among older, high-risk patients.

The Dietary Supplement Information Bureau (DSIB) has launched a new Web site – http://www.vitaminEfacts.org – to help consumers obtain accurate information on vitamin E. Visitors will find referenced materials to help them understand the analysis generating news headlines and facts on why vitamin E is safe and beneficial.

DSIB Scientific Advisory Board members were quick to respond to the issues raised in the study:

“This meta-analysis, a study of other studies published during the last 11 years, concludes there may be a very small increase in mortality associated with high dose vitamin E supplements. However, these results were generated from clinical trials of patients sick with chronic diseases or at very high risk of such conditions and cannot be extrapolated to generally healthy people looking to promote their health and prevent disease. It is important to appreciate that these researchers examined only 19 clinical trials comprised of 135,000 patients and did not investigate at all dozens of observational studies involving millions of people that show vitamin E supplementation can be beneficial and completely safe,” explains Dr. Jeffrey Blumberg, a professor of nutrition at Tufts University.

Regeneration of nerve cells using 10 hz square EM fields

There is a NASA study which showed that use of 10 hz square wave EM fields was effective in stimulating regeneration of nerve cells. The study is located at http://ston.jsc.nasa.gov/collections/TRS/_techrep/TP-2003-212054.pdf . The reader would have to read this paper in order to discover that 10 hz was used.

It is titled “Physiological and Molecular Genetic Effects of Time-Varying Electromagnetic Fields on Human Neuronal Cells”, and shows some beautiful pictures of the regenerative cells / tissues, as compared with control cells / tissues which were not regenerative.

There is related information in that author’s patents at US 6485963 and 6673597, both of which are titled “Growth stimulation of biological cells and tissue by electromagnetic fields and uses thereof”.

A device manufacturer (the device is called EM Probe) also posted a brief summary (included below) of the NASA study at their website http://www.em-probe.com. This is not intended to be an endorsement of that device, but just passing along information.

NASAs CONCLUSION:

“The up-regulation of these genes is in no manner marginal (1.7-8.4 logs) with gene sites for collagen production and growth the most actively stimulated.”

“We have clearly demonstrated the bioelectric/biochemical potentiation of nerve stimulation and restoration in humans as a documented reality”.

“The most effective electromagnetic field for repair of trauma was square wave with a rapid rate of change (dB/dt) which saw cell growth increased up to 4.0 times.”

They further noted that “slowly varying (millisecond pulse, sine wave) or non varying DC (CW lasers, magnets) had little to no effect.”

Final Recommendation: “One may use square wave EM fields with rapid rate of change for”:

a. repairing traumatized tissues

b. moderating some neurodegenerative diseases

c. developing tissues for transplantation

*the first study to clarify technologies and efficacy parameters for tissue growth and restoration

For brevity we reduced the 33 page technical paper to the above summary which we feel represents the essence of that communication. For those who wish to review the molecular and genetic portion of the report click on the following:”

Advanced Topics: Zero Point Energy

I am often asked about the “new” physics and avoid talking about it because much of what is said by new age enthusiasts is pure nonsense. However, Zpower Corporation has provided a good compiliation of articles from science journals that are accessible to someone who is not a practicing physicist. See “Zero Point Energy.” ZPE links the basic concepts of inertia, gravity, energy, electromagnetic fields, and scalar technology. Some of the effects of electromagnetic instruments and devices that act at a distance like the Advanced BioPhoton Analyzer can only be explained starting with an understanding of zero point energy.

I am working with Dale Fawcett to start a mentoring program for a limited number of people and this is the first of a series of notes that will point them in the right direction.

As Zpower Corporation points out:

Physicists recognize that we are immersed in an energetic field. The existence of the zero point electromagnetic energy was discovered in 1958 by the Dutch physicist M. J. Sparnaay. Mr Sparnaay continued the experiments carried out by Hendrick B. G. Casimir in 1948 which showed the existence of a force between two uncharged plates which arose from electromagnetic energy surrounding the plates in a vacuum.

Mr Sparnaay discovered that the forces acting on the plates arose from not only thermal energy (heat) but also from another type of radiation now known as classical electromagnetic zero point energy. Mr Sparnaay determined that not only did the zero point electromagnetic energy exist in a vacuum but also that it persisted even at a temperature of absolute zero. This term Zero Point Energy (ZPE) has been based on the concept that even if matter were cooled down to absolute zero (minus 273oC), in terms of its temperature, this energy field still remains.

Because it exists in a vacuum, ZPE is homogeneous (uniform) and isotropic (identical in all directions) as well as ubiquitous (exists everywhere). In addition, the intensity of the energy at any frequency is proportional to the cube of that frequency. Consequently, the intensity of the energy field increases without limit as the frequency increases resulting in an infinite energy density for the radiation spectrum. With the introduction of the ZPE into the classical electron theory, a vacuum at a temperature of absolute zero is no longer considered empty of all electromagnetic fields. Instead, the vacuum is now considered as filled with randomly fluctuating fields having the ZPE spectrum.

The special characteristics of ZPE are that it has a virtually infinite energy density and that it is ubiquitous (even present in outer space), which make it very desirable as an energy source. However, because high energy densities exist at very high frequencies, and because conventional methods are only able to convert or extract energy effectively or efficiently at lower frequencies, effectively tapping this energy source has been unavailable using conventional techniques. Consequently, ZPE which may be used to provide for society’s demanding energy needs has remained unharnessed.

Flu Alert:Latest Update

I have now picked up initial cases of a new flu on the east coast (Massachusetts and Connecticut) and the west coast (Los Angeles). There are several viral strains carried by multiple parasites infected with candida, which is typical of a flu. The virus is not responsive to Oscillicoccinum in initial phases and become responsive in later phases. One of the viruses is responsive in the initial phases to Dolisos Dolivaxil but not the others. Aches and pains are responsive to Gelsemium 30C.

Symptoms start off as nasal congestion and running nose, progressing to gastrointestinal distress, followed by aches and pains in parts of the body where the viruses take hold. Running the frequencies below will eliminate most symptoms. You may need to run them a couple of times initially and then daily if symptoms persist.

If you followed my previous recommendations, you already have taken a course of Delisos Dolivaxil and the infection may be minor. I wouldn’t count on your flu shot to protect you from all the different viral strains and recommend Dolivaxil even if you have a flu shot.

The parasites and candida will depress your immune system. Make sure you are taking Transfer Factor Plus. The latest version increases immune function by 4-6 times and it is the first dietary supplement ever approved for use in Russian clinics and hospitals. Dr. Kisielevsky of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences noted, “The 4Life sample [Transfer Factor Advanced Formula] activated NK (natural killer) cell activity more than the Interleukin-2 (IL2) drug we used as the standard.” Call Dale Fawcett at (360) 598-6585 to order some.

This year I have started to use scalar octaves as they cut the time needed to eliminate pathogens by 66%. Here are the initial frequencies. More may be added as the flu epidemic unfolds. You can run this program in an F160 or F155. For the FSCAN2, use orginal frequencies in the comments with a wobble of 15 for frequencies above 10000hz and a wobble of 4 for frequencies below 10000hz.
