Fluoride/Human IQ Studies

23 published studies report an association of reduced IQ with high fluoride exposure. Click here for complete summary.

In the summer of 2008, the following two reports reviewed the published studies reporting an association of high fluoride exposure and reduced IQ. The fluoride levels in water in these studies range from 0.88 – 9.4 ppm.

Connett M, Limeback H.
Fluoride and its effect on human intelligence. A systematic review.

International Association for Dental Research 83rd General Session and Exhibition. Toronto, Canada.
Poster 2205. July 4, 2008.

Tang Q-Q, Du J, Ma H-H, Jiang S-J, Zhou X-J.
Fluoride and Children’s Intelligence: A Meta-analysis.
Biol Trace Elem Res. 2008 Aug 10. 2008.

The Tang et al. study cites 16 studies, including 5 Chinese studies that we did not know about. FAN plans to have them translated.

The Connett & Limeback review, published prior to Tang et al., found 18 out of 20 studies reporting an association to fluoride exposure and lowered IQ.

The citations for the 23 studies are listed on the FAN site with links to the Chinese and translated versions.

The Fluoride journal published 6 of the translated Chinese studies on fluoride’s impact on IQ in its April-June 2008 edition (Qin-1990, Chen-1991, Guo-1991, Liu-2000, Hong-2001, Li-2003) and will publish more translated studies in later editions.

Twelve (12) the human/IQ studies were originally published in Chinese. Julian Brooke translated these studies into English under contract with Fluoride Action Network.

In their review of the toxicology of fluoride, the committee who authored the 2006 National Research Council of the National Academies report on fluoride (NRC), cited only 3 of the 23 studies in its ‘Findings on Human Cognitive Abilities’, and cited 6 of the 23 studies in its references (Yang et al., 1994; Li et al., 1995; Lin et al., 1991; Zhao et al., 1996; Lu et al., 2000; Xiang et al., 2003). 5 studies (including one untranslated Chinese study) were published after the NRC was released. The NRC report stated:

Human Cognitive Abilities.
In assessing the potential health effects of fluoride at 2-4 mg/L, the committee found three studies of human populations exposed at those concentrations in drinking water that were useful for informing its assessment of potential neurologic effects. These studies were conducted in different areas of China, where fluoride concentrations ranged from 2.5 to 4 mg/L. Comparisons were made between the IQs of children from those populations with children exposed to lower concentration of fluoride ranging from 0.4 to 1 mg/L. The studies reported that while modal IQ scores were unchanged, the average IQ scores were lower in the more highly exposed children. This was due to fewer children in the high IQ range. While the studies lacked sufficient detail for the committee to fully assess their quality and their relevance to U.S. populations, the consistency of the collective results warrant additional research on the effects of fluoride on intelligence. Investigation of other mental and physiological alterations reported in the case study literature, including mental confusion and lethargy, should also be investigated.
Ref: bottom of page 220 to page 221

The NRC report also stated:

On the basis of information largely derived from histological, chemical, and molecular studies, it is apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain and the body by direct and indirect means. To determine the possible adverse effects of fluoride, additional data from both the experimental and the clinical sciences are needed.

University of Arizona researchers kill viruses with frequencies

Vibrational Medicine: Scientists Kill Viruses by Blasting them with Resonant Frequencies
Thursday, August 14, 2008 by: David Gutierrez

(NaturalNews) Physicists at Arizona State University say they have developed a method to calculate the exact frequency that it would take to shake a virus to death, according to an article published in the journal Physical Review Letters.

Researchers have discovered that when viruses are bombarded with laser pulses of the right frequency, they shake apart. This arises from an inherent characteristic of all objects called a “resonant frequency,” which is the frequency at which an object naturally vibrates.

Resonant frequencies are the key to stringed instruments, in which a string of a certain material, thickness and length has a resonant frequency that produces a specific musical note. But resonant frequencies can also cause objects to shake so uncontrollably that their stability is undermined, as when a wind shook the Tacoma Narrows Bridge at its resonant frequency in 1940, causing it to collapse.

Because the shell of a single virus can contain millions of atoms, it is difficult to calculate a given virus’ resonant frequency except by trial and error. But in the current study, researchers successfully calculated the resonant frequency of a simple satellite tobacco necrosis virus. The next step for the researchers is to determine if the same technique will work for other, more complex viruses.

Minerals are Essential for Frequency Work

Reading an article recently on mineral depletion in our soils and in the population, the claim was made that half the men in the United States are sterile because of mineral depletion in our food. Historically, there are civilizations which have died out because of this. Whether this claim is true or not, it did start me testing for my own mineral depletion and those I work with. In general, most people seem to have a significant shortage of trace minerals in their bodies.

I then tested a number of mineral supplements and found them not likely to be helpful. One of them proved to be useful, ConcenTrace Trace Minerals Drops, 10 drops twice a day in water (which is less than what is recommended on the package). You can get them at Whole Foods or most healthfood stores and in many places on the web.

Another product that has been recommended is ORMES Super-Conductive Ionic Minerals. The type of supplement that is best depends on the person and their nutritive state. So you may test positive for one and not the other. Again, accurate kinesthesiology testing is simple and essential.

For those doing research on frequency effects, it is essential to use Transfer Factor to pump up your immune system along with trace mineral supplements to get the results you expect to achieve.

Ingrid Naiman on the Population Problem

Egg is the midst of blood cells

Occasionally, a ecologically oriented article is so well written that it deserves wider distribution. Ingrid Naiman has sent me many high resolution photos of her clients blood over the years to determine frequencies for pathogens clearly visible in the blood sample. It is very strange to be staring at something that looks clearly like it was bioengineered. There is a lot more going on than the average person realizes in their blood. The medical community would rather that patients not look at their blood. Remember in the middle ages, the church decreed that parishioners should not read the bible, as they might pick up some erroneous ideas! Well they were right, and Martin Luther started a revolution that is still going on. Let’s hope for the same thing in medicine after people start analyzing their blood samples …

Dear Subscribers,

There was practically no reaction to the article on Malthus but then, it was not about elephants painting!

If the recent post urging you to watch the Len Horowitz video and read the article did not motivate you, perhaps you will see the purpose when you read the news from Brazil:

http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/aug/08081407.html

or closer to home, here’s something on Gardasil:

http://www.yourlawyer.com/topics/overview/gardasil_side_effects

At the risk of pushing buttons and getting emails telling me to write more on health, I feel prompted to use a little more persuasion than usual to urge you to understand the magnitude of the problems we face.

There are areas of economics that bleed into politics and unfortunately, there is far too much overlap between health and government. On a national or global level, a program that yields x percent of the desired results may be adopted because it’s good enough for political purposes.

Okay, let’s be concrete. If the issue is population and there are political forces who subscribe to the view that the world is overpopulated, they will look for ways to reduce population. Being politicians, they will consider the usual options, none of them humane: wars, famine, and disease. When orchestrated from the top, they are merely different forms of genocide, but they are instruments used by those with power to control what they perceive as problems. Unfortunately, those submitting recommendations usually have something to gain: they sell the weapons or the chemicals or the “medicines” that are going to be used to commit atrocities in the name of necessity or nationalism or self preservation.

As I brought out in the article, China tried to protect its people from international meddling in its domestic affairs by implementing the one child per family policy. Where religious pressures permitted, other countries developed family planning initiatives and many went the route of legalizing abortion.

For political purposes, the method of control used does not matter unless the government is regulated by conscience or sensitivity to perceptions. For personal purposes, a method that is partially acceptable might not be adequate. Let me make this graphic. Years ago I met a woman who said she had eight children by eight different methods of birth control failure. Okay, we can all have a little laugh at her expense, but the truth is we are unlikely to meet another person with a story like this. If a method is 80% reliable, a government might adopt it if it is cheap and easy to teach; however, a responsible couple will probably look for a method that is 100% dependable.

My point is simply that governments worldwide are on board with Malthusian fears and all are meddling in decisions that ought to be private . . . and unless you know this, you are very apt to become a victim.

War: The rest of the world has known for a long time that the events of 9/11 could not possibly have occurred in the manner suggested by officialdom and its cohorts in mass media who are funded by advertisements from the same companies that pad the pockets of politicians. Even, in the U.S., it is also becoming increasingly clear that at least some lies were told.

For instance, the war in Afghanistan was planned in July and scheduled for October so its only real connection to 9/11 was that it was “justified” to the public because of 9/11. This is not conspiracy theory. Jack Straw stated this as such and Tony Blair answered questions in Parliament about this issue. It simply doesn’t get press here.

The point for bringing this up is merely that unprovoked war was planned, without your consent but using public resources. In short, in the guns or butter choice, the vote went for guns. You get GMO margarine. In the matter of who ends up with the resources after they are redistributed, a very good argument can be made for pirates, aka Halliburton, Exxon-Mobile, Carlyle Group, etc., etc., etc.

However, it is not just your money and national honor, it is your sons and daughters and the sons and daughters of the Afghanis. If there are fewer people, there are fewer hands demanding the spoils of war and thus, most likely, more benefit to the rich and powerful. On the level important to the planners, war works.

Famine: GMO crops, weather manipulation, loss of bees, use of land for growing biofuels instead of food, toxins in food, mad cow disease, import regulations, and obstruction in transport systems and is not “natural” and it is not happening because Nature has turned against us. It is happening either because of gross mismanagement or policies conceived in the minds of people with the power required to turn their malevolence into action.

Disease: fraudulent medicine, suppression of authentic treatments, bioweapons, and genetic manipulation are just a few of the concerns and the problems have nothing whatsoever to do with lack of understanding of health or the need for multi-billion dollar wars on germs or diseases.

Because war, famine, and disease are all traditional instruments of political measures to control population, the “justifiable”, “natural”, and “epidemiological” factors associated with these “enterprises” are weakened to the point of irrelevancy. By this, I mean, if wars were only fought to protect the home turf or if famines only occurred because of cataclysmic natural events such as ice ages or volcanic upheaval or locusts or drought, “natural” would have meaning, but most famine today is either intentional or due to massive negligence. Likewise, were it not for the policies and practices of big money, medicine would be safe and reliable. We know this is not the case so it has to also be intentional.

The cure for the problem is personal action. It’s important to take actions that diminish the risks of unconscionable politics. We always start where our hearts are, looking after those we love and hopefully, there is a ripple effect that sets off more conscious action. Since we are clueless about our food, it’s best to grow our own and/or buy from local farmers we can trust . . . or from cooperatives that take their responsibilities to their fellow members seriously.

For health, you really have to educate yourself because system is not going to help you escape from its clutches. We have all been indoctrinated to believe that there is something miraculous and super powerful about anything new or modern, but the fact of the matter is that each of us is here today because our forebears found a way to survive challenges to existence and they relied entirely on methods we would now consider archaic. It’s important not to fall for the notion that archaic and obsolete have the same meaning. Traditional, ancient, and archaic may mean “tried and true” as opposed to experimental and promising.

I will get tired of writing these posts just as you tire of reading them, but please have your antennae stretched as far as possible.

Many blessings,

Ingrid

Frequencies help Alzheimers’s

www.linklane.com/a/alzhiemers_disease.htm

A Senior Producer at NPR forwarded this Reuter’s press release to me on a clinical trial showing stimulation of the brain by frequencies in Alzheimer’s patients was as good or better than some drugs. Surprise!

I’ve had limited experience with Alzheimer’s. However, the family of one client had me stop by and I detected a virus in the brain. Applying frequencies for this immediately popped the elderly person out of a comotose state.

There are several mechanisms that may be at at work here. They may be affecting pathogens, stimulating the elimination of toxins (particularly metals), stimulating brain cell function, or a combination of all of the above. They don’t provide the frequencies in the press release so there is not enough data to show what they were really doing.

Brain stimulation improves memory in Alzheimer’s

By Will Boggs, MD

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – Electrical stimulation of the brain may improve memory and recognition in elderly people who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, results of a study hint.

“Our preliminary data on Alzheimer’s disease patients are promising as we observed beneficial effects after a single session of transcranial direct current stimulation,” Dr. Alberto Priori from the University of Milan told Reuters Health, “suggesting that chronic daily application might induce even greater improvement.”

“Our studies encourage broader research programs using different stimulation protocols and longer clinical follow-up to clarify the impact this therapy might have on patients’ daily functional activities,” Priori added.

Priori and colleagues investigated whether electrical stimulation applied over an area at the side of the brain called the temporoparietal cortex could improve recognition memory in 10 patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

The treatment significantly improved word recognition memory accuracy, they found report, whereas sham treatment had no impact on memory. The results were similar after correcting memory performance for guessing, the report indicates.

“Interestingly,” the investigators say, the electrical stimulation-induced improvement in the word recognition test in patients with Alzheimer’s disease is comparable to the 16 percent improvement induced by long-term treatment with cholinesterase inhibitors – drugs currently used to treat early memory problems in patients with dementia.

“We are assessing possible long-lasting effects of (electrical stimulation) in Alzheimer’s disease patients using repeated session protocols in a larger sample with longer clinical follow-up,” Priori said.

“We believe that the best results, especially in Alzheimer’s disease patients, could be obtained by combining transcranial direct current stimulation with cognitive rehabilitation,” Priori added.

Flouride makes your children stupid!

Chinese Studies Showing Fluoride Lowers IQ Available in Translation
7/10/2008, IAOMT News and Flouride Action Network

While dentists in the US continue to treat fluoride as if it only effects one tissue in the body (the teeth), researchers around the world continue to study fluoride’s effects on other areas in the body. Of particular concern is a growing number of studies suggesting that fluoride can interfere with the brain, particularly the developing brain of the fetus, infant, and toddler.

In 2006, the US National Research Council (NRC) provided a much-needed wake up call with an excellent summary of the available literature on fluoride. According to the NRC, “it is apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain.”

In its review, the NRC examined the studies showing an association between fluoride and reduced IQ in children and concluded that “the consistency of the results appears significant enough to warrant additional research on the effects of fluoride on intelligence.” Since the NRC review was released, 4 additional studies on fluoride and IQ have been published — from Mexico, Iran, India, and China.

A Wealth of “New” Data

In addition, an investigation last year by Fluoride Action Network revealed that there are many important studies on fluoride and the brain which the NRC was unable to review because they have only been available in Chinese. To help get these studies in the hands of western scientists and government regulators, FAN paid to have them translated and has worked to get them published in an English-language journal.

We are extremely happy to announce, therefore, that 12 of the studies that FAN paid to get translated have just been published in the journal Fluoride (with more translations expected to be published in the coming months) — marking the first time these studies (with one exception) have ever seen the light of day in an English-language journal.

The studies published this week – available online at http://www.fluorideresearch.org — (click on Fluoride 2008;41(2):97-172 for April-June 2008) provide a wealth of additional data confirming fluoride’s ability to damage brain development. As noted in an introduction by Dr. Albert W. Burgstahler, Editor of Fluoride, the studies “are of great importance worldwide for a fuller understanding of how fluoride can affect neurological development, function, and performance.”

For example, a 1996 study by researchers at Guiyang Medical College (Yu 1996) details how fluoride exposure among pregnant mothers can disrupt the synthesis of neurotransmitters and receptors in the brain cells of the fetus. Such effects could lead to long-lasting defects in brain function after birth.

Another study details how infants born to mothers with a history of high fluoride exposure exhibit differences in neuro-behavioral function shortly after birth, including delayed reaction to visual and auditory stimulus (Li 2004). According to the authors: “The present observations indicate that fluoride, as a toxic material to nerve development, can have an adverse impact on the neurobehavioral development of neonates.”

Other studies include five additional human studies showing a correlation between elevated fluoride intake and reduced intelligence in children (Li 2003; Hong 2001; Guo 1991; Chen 1991; Qin 1990), along with two animal studies finding that fluoride produces “considerable deterioration” in the learning and memory abilities of mice (Sun 2000; Zhang 1999).

Does Chemotherapy Work?

Clin Oncol (R Coll Radiol). 2004 Dec;16(8):549-60

The contribution of cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adult malignancies.

Morgan G, Ward R, Barton M.

Department of Radiation Oncology, Northern Sydney Cancer Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, NSW, Australia. [email protected]

AIMS: The debate on the funding and availability of cytotoxic drugs raises questions about the contribution of curative or adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to survival in adult cancer patients.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: We undertook a literature search for randomised clinical trials reporting a 5-year survival benefit attributable solely to cytotoxic chemotherapy in adult malignancies. The total number of newly diagnosed cancer patients for 22 major adult malignancies was determined from cancer registry data in Australia and from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results data in the USA for 1998. For each malignancy, the absolute number to benefit was the product of (a) the total number of persons with that malignancy; (b) the proportion or subgroup(s) of that malignancy showing a benefit; and (c) the percentage increase in 5-year survival due solely to cytotoxic chemotherapy. The overall contribution was the sum total of the absolute numbers showing a 5-year survival benefit expressed as a percentage of the total number for the 22 malignancies.

RESULTS:
The overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA.

CONCLUSION:
As the 5-year relative survival rate for cancer in Australia is now over 60%, it is clear that cytotoxic chemotherapy only makes a minor contribution to cancer survival. To justify the continued funding and availability of drugs used in cytotoxic chemotherapy, a rigorous evaluation of the cost-effectiveness and impact on quality of life is urgently required.

L-Form Bacteria: the root of many chronic diseases

Granuoles of Borellia burgdorferi, Kersten 1995

Pathogens are directly related to most health problems. Many (if not all) health issues are caused by the interaction of multiple pathogens with the environmental and genetic environment of the individual. In 2006, the CDC began responding to this problem understood by frequency researchers since Rife built his first plasma devices in the early 20th century. A significant amount of new research is becoming available on L-form bacteria which lay at the root of most chronic disease (although many clinicians still don’t think they exist!). A good place to start reading about this is Amy Proal’s web site – Bacteriality.

Understanding L-form Bacteria
Author: Amy Proal 15 Aug 2007

In a 2006 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a paper stating, “Infectious agents have emerged as notable determinants, not just complications, of chronic diseases. To capitalize on these opportunities, clinicians, public health practitioners, and policymakers must recognize that many chronic diseases may indeed have infectious origins.”

According to the CDC, infectious agents likely determine more cancers, immune-mediated syndromes, neurodevelopmental disorders, and other chronic conditions than currently appreciated. In fact, they argue that the potential to avoid or minimize chronic disease by preventing or treating infections may yet be substantially underestimated. Those of us familiar with the Marshall Protocol know that they are absolutely correct.

The same can be said for Dave Relman, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and of microbiology and immunology at Stanford University in California who argues, “The list of chronic inflammatory diseases with possible microbial etiologies is extensive; it includes sarcoidosis, various forms of inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Wegener granulomatosis, diabetes mellitus, primary biliary cirrhosis, tropical sprue, and Kawasaki disease….. the concept of pathogenic mechanism should be viewed broadly.”

Happily, the stealth pathogens responsible for causing the vast majority of chronic diseases have already been identified.

National Salmonella Outbreak
Posted by Salmonella Attorney 9 Jul 2008

Since April, 1017 persons infected with Salmonella Saintpaul with the same genetic fingerprint have been identified in 41 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. These were identified because clinical laboratories in all states send Salmonella strains from ill persons to their State public health laboratory for characterization. No new states report ill persons. The number of ill persons identified in each state is as follows: Alabama (2 persons), Arkansas (14), Arizona (49), California (9), Colorado (13), Connecticut (4), Florida (2), Georgia (24), Idaho (4), Illinois (100), Indiana (14), Iowa (2), Kansas (17), Kentucky (1), Louisiana (1), Maine (1), Maryland (29), Massachusetts (25), Michigan (8), Minnesota (15), Missouri (12), New Hampshire (4), Nevada (11), New Jersey (9), New Mexico (98), New York (28), North Carolina (10), Ohio (8), Oklahoma (24), Oregon (10), Pennsylvania (11), Rhode Island (3), South Carolina (2), Tennessee (8), Texas (384), Utah (2), Virginia (29), Vermont (2), Washington (11), West Virginia (1), Wisconsin (11), and the District of Columbia (1). Four ill persons are reported from Canada; three appear to have been infected while traveling in the United States, and one illness remains under investigation.

Among the 744 persons with information available, illnesses began between April 10 and June 26, 2008, including 300 who became ill on June 1 or later. Many steps must occur between a person becoming ill and the determination that the illness was caused by the outbreak strain of Salmonella; these steps take an average of 2-3 weeks. Therefore, an illness reported today may have begun 2-3 weeks ago. Patients range in age from Patients range in age from 1 to 99 years; 49 percent are female. The rate of illness is highest among persons 20 to 29 years old; the rate of illness is lowest in children 10 to 19 years old and in persons 80 or more years old. At least 111 persons were hospitalized. One death in a man in Texas in his eighties has been associated with this outbreak. In addition, a man in his sixties who died in Texas from cancer had an infection with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Saintpaul at the time of his death; the infection may have contributed to his death…

BioDisks and Zero Point Energy

An interesting new technology called BioDisks, invented by physicist Dan Nelson, is effective at modulating the body’s electromagnetic field without using any type of conventional electromagnetic device. Computer generated geometric patterns allow tapping zero-point energy. The BioDisks can be used alone or work nicely in conjunction with conventional Rife technologies and augment frequency effects.

I am often asked about the “new” physics and avoid talking about it because much of what is said by new age enthusiasts is pure nonsense. However, Zpower Corporation has provided a good compiliation of articles from science journals that are accessible to someone who is not a practicing physicist. See “Zero Point Energy.” ZPE links the basic concepts of inertia, gravity, energy, electromagnetic fields, and scalar technology. Some of the effects of electromagnetic instruments and devices that act at a distance can only be explained starting with an understanding of zero point energy.

As Zpower Corporation points out:

Physicists recognize that we are immersed in an energetic field. The existence of the zero point electromagnetic energy was discovered in 1958 by the Dutch physicist M. J. Sparnaay. Mr Sparnaay continued the experiments carried out by Hendrick B. G. Casimir in 1948 which showed the existence of a force between two uncharged plates which arose from electromagnetic energy surrounding the plates in a vacuum.

Mr Sparnaay discovered that the forces acting on the plates arose from not only thermal energy (heat) but also from another type of radiation now known as classical electromagnetic zero point energy. Mr Sparnaay determined that not only did the zero point electromagnetic energy exist in a vacuum but also that it persisted even at a temperature of absolute zero. This term Zero Point Energy (ZPE) has been based on the concept that even if matter were cooled down to absolute zero (minus 273oC), in terms of its temperature, this energy field still remains.

Because it exists in a vacuum, ZPE is homogeneous (uniform) and isotropic (identical in all directions) as well as ubiquitous (exists everywhere). In addition, the intensity of the energy at any frequency is proportional to the cube of that frequency. Consequently, the intensity of the energy field increases without limit as the frequency increases resulting in an infinite energy density for the radiation spectrum. With the introduction of the ZPE into the classical electron theory, a vacuum at a temperature of absolute zero is no longer considered empty of all electromagnetic fields. Instead, the vacuum is now considered as filled with randomly fluctuating fields having the ZPE spectrum.

The special characteristics of ZPE are that it has a virtually infinite energy density and that it is ubiquitous (even present in outer space), which make it very desirable as an energy source. However, because high energy densities exist at very high frequencies, and because conventional methods are only able to convert or extract energy effectively or efficiently at lower frequencies, effectively tapping this energy source has been unavailable using conventional techniques. Consequently, ZPE which may be used to provide for society’s demanding energy needs has remained unharnessed.
